The Bosham Association  48th AGM 19 Nov. 2011 at Bosham Village Hall

Ninety members of the Association attended the AGM together with guests WSCC Cllr Louise Goldsmith and CDC Cllr David Myers, both of whom also sit on the  Chichester Harbour Conservancy.
The meeting was chaired by Peter Price, vice-chairman of BA, who reviewed the work of the Association for the past year. About a dozen planning items had been considered, and the BA was currently concerned with the Burne’s Shipyard development proposal. Members who had supplied email addresses had been consulted in this connection. The Association had been very involved with the preparation and recent publication of the Bosham Village Design Statement. It had also triggered the initial design work on the proposed new Trippett wall extension, including sponsoring a professional design, and was now working with the Chichester Harbour Conservancy on this project. The Association had recently relaunched its website. Doggy bags would continue to be provided, at least for the immediate future.

Two minor amendments to the Constitution were approved by the meeting.

The  Accounts for the year ending 31 Dec. 2010 were presented by the acting Treasurer, and accepted by the Meeting.  £2,200 had been paid towards the Shore Road Wall Project. Standing orders for membership fees could be a way forward to save on administration costs and to help members when paying. It was agreed that the annual subscription from 2013 should be £5 per person.

Officers appointed by the Meeting were : President – Jill McGregor, Treasurer – Tony Chapman, Secretary – Judy Peeters, Membership Secretary – Mike McKeand. Committee Members elected were Peter Newman, Dick Pratt, Kevin Taws, Brian Walton, Janet Howe and David West.

Peter Newman spoke about the proposed development of Burne’s Shipyard and the Association’s response to this.
Other matters discussed were problems of parking and speeding in the village, the possible construction of an Annexe to the Parish Church and work on the footpath along The Slip by Quay Meadow.

Presentations were also given by David Myers and Louise Goldsmith, as well as by Dick Pratt on the Bosham Village Design Statement.
